“let food be thy medicine ….”
What is Keto?
I love food. When I first heard of Keto, that you could eat all this food and lose weight, I was ecstatic, but boy did I get it wrong.
You see, there is only so much streaky bacon, chicken thighs with skin on, and fat-full steak before you think, surely my body isn’t liking this too much. One of my patients also went this way, diving headfirst into fat! Boy, his lab cholesterol test a few months later was not great. I had to go looking again for a better way. I came across the company Keyto. Created by a cardiologist, a version of Keto that looks after your heart focusing on healthy fats from seeds, nuts, fish, and avocado heaven. This was closer to what I wanted.
LCHF is what I eat now. Low carb healthy fats.
So why Keto? Try it for a day and the question will be why not?
When you complain of bloating, brain fog, and poor sleep. Remove carbs and sugar for a few days from your diet and your tummy and body thank you.
Like everyone else this festive season, I was enjoying the festive flavors in the shops and cafes; within a few days, my tummy was competing with my bust for the sun lol. Boy, am I glad for Keto or Keyto. There is a science to why carbs give you the bloat; I will share this later.
So, like Hippocrates practiced, let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food 🙂
